The square tower of St Winnow’s Church in the hamlet of the same name is shown in outline among trees above the east bank of the River Fowey, south of Lostwithiel, near which Turner had sketched Restormel Castle (see under folio 7 recto; D08374), and north of Fowey itself (see under folio 5 verso; D08371).
