This page contains three views drawn from the road which skirts the northern boundary of the walls of Pompeii. The uppermost sketch depicts the vista looking north towards Vesuvius whilst the two lower studies respectively represent the views looking east and south across the city ruins towards the Lattari Mountains. The bottom sketch incorporates the distinctive outline of Monte Faito and the Sorrentine peninsula with the island of Capri on the far right-hand side.
