Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
See note to folio 40 (D06719; Turner Bequest CI 92) for Finberg’s allocation of this leaf to the Boats, Ice sketchbook and its subsequent inclusion here. The image now appears inverted. The paper is badly discoloured from exposure of the recto (D06717; Turner Bequest CI 90) and there are traces of gum at the corners from having been laid down.
