An unfinished watercolour of this subject is Tate D00688 (Turner Bequest XXVIII C). The dancing figures noted to the right of the gateway here may have given Turner the idea for the little scene that he added to the foreground of his exhibited view of Llandaff Cathedral (Tate D00686; Turner Bequest XXVIII A).
