Accepted by the nation as part of the Turner Bequest 1856
This is a slight sketch. Other studies of waterfalls in the same area are Tate D00137 and D00140 (Turner Bequest XII H, K) and the recto of this sheet (D00138; Turner Bequest XII I).
The lowest of Turner’s inscribed numbers is now partly illegible from damage sustained in the 1928 Tate flood.
