This page contains several studies of chimneys and other architectural features which Turner has recorded in an inscription as ‘Milanese’. The individual buildings have not been identified although many of the chimneys appear to be of the Renaissance style. For further sketches of Milan see the introduction to the sketchbook.
Also on the page is a small sketch of two figures carrying a large basket or bundle (bottom right-hand corner, inverted).
