This sketch depicts a landing place with boats on the shores of a lake or river. The subject is not conclusively identified although a tentative suggestion might be a view of Sesto Calende on Lake Maggiore, see folios 13 verso–14 (D14169–14170; Turner Bequest CLXXIV 12a–13).
