This is the right half of a double-page spread continued from folio 57 verso (D10974), opposite, recording the view of Middleham Castle and town from the east near Ulshaw Bridges, with Penhill top left. The panorama is continued to the right at the top of the page and effectively continued further to the right, albeit from a slightly more distant viewpoint to take in Ulshaw Bridges themselves, on the verso (D10976).
