Vevey is seen here from the Grande Place, looking towards the head of Lake Geneva. Turner has sketched a busy scene of figures and boats. A rather more distant view is on the opposite page (D29064; Turner Bequest CCXCIII 17). This sketch is inverted in relation to the main sequence of subjects in the sketchbook.
