Turner’s emphatic inscription indicates that this is a view at Bideford, but the lack of clear landmarks makes the viewpoint difficult to establish. The setting is presumably the banks of the River Torridge near the town, with low hills beyond; for other views, see under folio 79 recto (D09564).
Technical notes:
There is some staining to the right-hand edge of the leaf.
