Diana Cook and Dorothy Kirk describe the view north up the Tamar past Hatches Green towards Gunnislake on the slope to the left and New Bridge, with Chimney Rock above the river on the right; they observe that although glimpses of the view can be obtained through the trees along the road east of Calstock Church, the best vantage point would be a train on the adjacent railway.1 The view is continuous with folio 140 recto opposite (D09654), although Cook and Kirk treat that page separately and suggest a different viewpoint nearby.
For other views along the Tamar Valley, see under folio 114 verso (D09606).
