Allowing for later rebuilding, this is presumably the same bridge over the East Okement River, between Fore Street and East Street in the centre of Okehampton, as seen on folio 51 recto (D09821; Turner Bequest CXXXIV 29).
At Okehampton, an 1842 etching by F.C. Lewis (Westcountry Studies Library, Exeter), shows the same view. The letters Turner has inscribed here on the roofs presumably differentiate tiles and slates. For other views of the town and castle at Okehampton, see under folio 59 recto (D09814; Turner Bequest CXXXIV 22).
Verso:
Blank, save for inscription in pencil ‘1’ left of centre
