As noted in the Introduction, this calendar for 1829 suggests that this sketchbook was produced in France as a notebook in anticipation of that year. The six monthly columns on this side, beginning with ‘JANVIER 1829’ and headed by corresponding images of the Zodiac signs, tabulate abbreviated days of the weeks and days of the month with saints’ days or other festivals in the Christian year.
Neither side of the calendar bears any drawing or inscription by Turner. It is tipped into the book by its verso (D41059) near the gutter on folio 1 recto (D22557).
