Folio 63 Recto:
?Diagram of a Moulding and a Plan 1796–7
D01242
Turner Bequest XXXVII 125
Pencil on blue laid wrapping paper prepared with a red-brown wash, 113 x 93 mm
Inscribed by Turner in pencil ‘[?O Humphry]’ at centre and ‘[?St Neots]’ bottom right, upside down
Stamped in black ‘XXXVII – 125’ bottom right

The two inscriptions are almost impossible to decipher. Ozias Humphry (1742–1810) was a portrait painter and miniaturist; St Neots (Finberg reads ‘St Noots’) is the name of a town in the former county of Huntingdonshire (now a district of Cambridgeshire), while St Neot [sic] is a village in Cornwall.
