With fine, deliberate handling Turner has made a fairly detailed rendering of Huy from an easterly viewpoint in the surrounding hillsides. The Church of Notre-Dame, proportionally exaggerated by Turner, rises loftily above the city. Behind is the citadel crowning the rocky heights.
