Beyond the shipping on the left are the shot tower (now gone) and the tower of Southwark Cathedral, looking south-west from the River Thames, with Old London Bridge on the right. More than half the drawings in this sketchbook show the river around the bridge, and are likely to date from 1824; see the Introduction.
