Turner has not included the castle in this view, which shows the southernmost stretch of the town walls as seen from the east, with Conwy Mountain in the background. However, the castle was the principal focus of his interest, and figures in the other views of Conwy in this book, which are on the rectos of folios 80–85 (D01303D01306, D01336, D01307; Turner Bequest XXXVIII 50, 50a, 51, 52, 82, 53).
