The subject is continued on folio 29 recto opposite (D01509; Turner Bequest XL 27). Like the study on folios 26 verso–27 recto (D01504–D01505; Turner Bequest XL 24a–25), this was probably made at the Royal Academy Life School. It shows the same model in the same pose as the other drawing, though from the opposite side and without the accoutrements of David with the head of Goliath. The two studies are not related to preparations for any known subject picture.
