Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, the subject is continued on folio 82 recto opposite (D01598; Turner Bequest XL 80). Compare the very slight sketch of hill and a stretch of coast on folios 61 verso–62 recto (D01564–D01565; Turner Bequest XL 59a–60). It has not been possible to identify the view, though it should be noted that Turner’s viewpoint here is high on a hillside; we are perhaps looking down on Cardigan Bay from above Aberporth.
