Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, the drawing is continued on folio 40 recto opposite (D01754; Turner Bequest XLI 79). There are other views of Caerphilly in this book, on folios 1 verso–2 recto, 3 recto, and 31 verso–32 recto (D01677–D01678, D01680, D01737–D01738; Turner Bequest XLI 2–3, 5, 62–63).
Turner also studied Caerphilly in his 1798 Cyfarthfa sketchbook (Tate D01636, D01637, D01639; Turner Bequest XLI 8, 9, 10a).
