Made with the page turned horizontally, this is apparently a study for a finished watercolour of Cader Idris (currently untraced).1 This and folio 49 verso (D01873; Turner Bequest XLIII 48a) may be derived from a watercolour view in the 1798 Hereford Court sketchbook (Tate D01337; Turner Bequest XXXVIII 83).
