A finished watercolour based on this drawing in its unmutilated state (see the Technical notes later in this entry) was made for the Earl of Essex (private collection),1 and engraved for the History and Description of Cassiobury Park, 1816 (no Tate impression). Technical notes:
This is a fragment of a sketchbook leaf, used horizontally and originally measuring approximately 334 x 469 mm; the other part of the drawing, D02234 (Turner Bequest XLVII 57), is now mounted to its right.
