Here Turner pictures an imposing mansion with a tower or campanile constructed in the Mosan Renaissance architectural style. The building appears to give on to a stream, as a small double-arched bridge can be seen to its immediate left. At the foot of this sketch is a squared-off drawing of the landscape near the village of ‘Thon’, situated on the Meuse between Namur and Andenne. The remaining landscape sketches are extremely slight, drawn with the sketchbook turned upside down.
