This finely wrought and detailed prospect of Dieppe was taken from a vantage point high in the surrounding cliffs at Le Pollet.1 A similar perspective is shown in Tate D20207, D35850; Turner Bequest CCXX A, CCCLXIV 13. The Church of Saint-Jacques can be seen at left and the Château de Dieppe in the distance at right.
