Inverted in relation to the sketchbook as foliated, this sketch records the south-easterly view from the suburb of Sainte-Adresse looking out towards Le Havre and the Seine estuary. A nearby view is sketched onto folio 41 recto (D23597; Turner Bequest CCLII 41).
