With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner filled this page with a drawing of the western façade of Panthéon building in Paris as seen from the neighbouring streets. The several pages of the volume feature studies of this monument to France’s glorious dead, a list of which is provided in the sketchbook Introduction.
