With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner filled the upper left-hand quadrant of this page with a study of a carriage. The rest of this drawing can be found on folio 169 verso (D24499; Turner Bequest CCLVII 169a) which has had a large section torn out of it and subsequently repaired.
