Drawn with the pages turned horizontally, the subject is continued on folio 69 recto opposite (D05037; Turner Bequest LXXXI 135). There are further studies of individual fishing boats on folios 70 verso–71 recto and 72 verso–73 recto (D05040–D05041, D05044–D05045; Turner Bequest LXXXI 138–139, 142–143).

The white gouache has become oxidised.
