The painting by the French artist Nicolas Poussin (1594–1665) copied here by Turner with the page turned horizontally, is now in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford; it was bought by the dealer Bryan from the Orléans collection in 1798 and shown in London in that year, and then acquired by Richard, Earl Temple, later the 1st Duke of Buckingham.
