Among the boats moored here off a wooded shore are two flying flags or pennants, one with a banded horizontal design and the other apparently numbered ‘2’. They may be markers on a racing course. Turner’s note to the right is perhaps shorthand for a ‘mackerel sky’ of high clouds like the one he noted in full on folio 39 verso (D18065).
