With the page turned vertically, there are three quick studies here, probably along the Channel coast. The middle one may be labelled ‘Bol’ for Boulogne; see under folio 1 recto (D35487). See the sketchbook’s Introduction for the many slight coastal views scattered through it.
Technical notes:
There is some brown staining at the gutter and at the edge, possibly indicating water damage in the 1928 Tate flood.
