With the sketchbook turned horizontally, Turner filled the centre of this page with sketches of Nantes. The vista at the centre of the page included the Bras de Bourse, the Tour Bouffay and the eastern end of the Île Feydeau. The pages of this volume feature many depictions of Nantes, a list of which is included in the sketchbook introduction.
