This is an unfinished view of a parade of houses on the Karolinenstrasse in Nuremberg, Germany. Two women are pictured in the foreground, one carrying a basket on her back. Turner has rendered the architecture with attention, depicting the stepped gable and elaborately decorated façade of the Herdegenhaus at left.
