Published: Vol.I, 1833, ‘Minstrelsy of the Scottish Border’, title-page vignette. Original watercolour: untraced (Wilton 1979, no.1071). Although Rawlinson records that all impressions of the first published state of this plate were printed on India paper, the engraved inscriptions on this plain paper impression accord with those for the first state as described by him.
