ARTIST ROOMS is an inspirational collection of modern and contemporary art acquired for the nation by National Galleries of Scotland and Tate through the generosity of Anthony d’Offay. The collection was acquired with support from the National Heritage Memorial Fund, the Art Fund and the Scottish and British Governments. ARTIST ROOMS On Tour enables this collection to reach and inspire new audiences across the country, particularly young people.

ARTIST ROOMS includes major installations and groups of work by artists of international renown, including Andy Warhol, Robert Mapplethorpe and Damien Hirst. Since its inception, the collection has always been intended to grow, and additional works have been given by major contemporary artists such as Douglas GordonRobert Therrien and Ed Ruscha.

The ARTIST ROOMS collection includes some of the most significant artists of the twentieth century and has remarkable potential to engage audiences and learners in the art of our time. These themes focus on specific works and encourage different ways of looking at the collection.
