From the inlay:

The double issue of Audio Arts was recorded over a three day period during the opening week of the 1995 Venice Biennale. […] Interviews are by William Furlong and Michael Archer […] Acknowledgement is due to Jim Cohan, of the Anthony d’Offay Gallery for his assistance in arranging the interview with Bill Viola. US commissioner for the 1995 Venice Biennale and Director of Arizona State University Arts Museum: Marilyn A. Zeitin

This double issue of Audio Arts was recorded over a three day period during the opening week of the 1995 Venice Biennale, Audio Arts in attending major artworld events believes that the associated conversations, discussions and debates that take place on occasions such as this, are an essential and integral part of exploring and defining the agendas and issues of contemporary art. The recordings heard on the tapes were therefore made ‘on the spot’ with artists, critics, curators and commentators. They offer an authentic, unrehearsed and spontaneous account of the 1995 Venice Biennale.

Interviews are by William Furlong and Michael Archer.
