Howard Hodgkin's art has been described as 'a mixture of memory and reality with strong abstracted patterns in bright colours'.
After studying the work in the Howard Hodgkin exhibition, participants in this workshop explore ways in which paint and colour can inspire ideas and texts. These then
form the basis for creating new forms and colours. The workshop includes practical sessions on automatic writing, book structure,
experimental use of colour, and work with 'page layering' based on the paint layering employed by Hodgkin.
The workshop is led by Faction who work in loose collaboration with a shared focus on the book format as a vehicle for the conceptual and physical exploration
of ideas.
