Who are Jake and Dinos Chapman?

Led by Chris Townsend
Saturday 28 April 2007, 14.00–17.30

Deemed two of the most controversial artists working today, Jake and Dinos Chapman have risen to great notoriety. But beyond the hype, is a body of work that is intellectually provocative, historically critical and topical. Their diverse practice and continual explorations demonstrate their historical significance and offers rich and deep material for investigation and this study day provides an overview of their work, drawing on their mid-career retrospective at Tate Liverpool as well as When Humans Walked the Earth, a new display at Tate Britain.

The day is led by Chris Townsend, senior lecturer, Royal Holloway College, University of London and author of Art and Death and The Art of Jake and Dinos Chapman.
