JMW Turner raised the status of watercolour through his innovative methods and mastery of technique. Drawing on a new display, Colour and Line: Turner's Experiments, this workshop will study Turner's watercolour techniques and his experimentation with colour, light and material. Through lectures, practical work, visits to the Prints and Drawing Room and field trips to the surrounding riverside, participants will have the opportunity to produce a series of watercolours inspired by some of Turner’s most spectacular works. This workshop is aimed at those with limited watercolour experience.
