Civilisation
40 Years on
Saturday 21 February – Saturday 18 April 2009
As the Tate Triennial looks into art's future, we look back forty years to when Civilisation, Lord Clark's epic survey of one thousand five hundred years of western culture, was first broadcast. Led by lecturer and author Matthew Kieran, this Tate Britain series debates creativity then and now and finds common themes with philosophers and art-world professionals.
