Hear these legendary champions of the 'never mind the gap' school of djing play an art-inspired set in the midst of British Romantic paintings. Mairead and Tabitha have been working together since 2002, creating unpredictable music experiences and can be heard around London and hosting Sonic Safari on BBC 6 Music.

Colin Cruise: In Pursuit of Avalon

Colin Cruise has published widely on nineteenth-century art. He curated the exhibition 'Love Revealed: Simeon Solomon and the Pre-Raphaelites' for Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and is currently working on an exhibition of Pre-Raphaelite drawings. He teaches art history at the School of Art, the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and tonight will be discussing the painting The Sleep of Arthur in Avalon (1881-1898).

Toby Treves on Paolozzi's Cyclops

Join artist Faisal Abdu'Allah as he discusses ways in which contemporary art can challenge preconceived ideas. Drawing on his own work as well as the Nahnou Together project, he will explore how the displays challenge the familiar presentation of 'the Middle East' in the media.

Writer and critic Brian Dillon is UK editor of Cabinet Magazine, and author of the memoir In the Dark Room, and will be discussing the work of Tacita Dean on display in Drawn from the Collection.

John Stezaker on his work

John Stezaker is fascinated by the power of images and questions the authority of pictures found in books, magazines, postcards and encyclopaedias by directly intervening into their ordinary status. Through the handcrafted act of splicing together, inverting, or simply adjusting an image Stezaker embarks upon 'a process that cuts it off from its disappearance into the everyday world'. He will be discussing his influences - from Surrealism to Hollywood - and the processes that inform his work in this talk.

Chris Stephens on Victor Passmore

2008 is the centenary of Passmore's birth and this new display of his work brings together the different phases of his career. Chris Stephens, curator of modern British art and head of displays at Tate Britain will be discussing the aesthetics of one of the most important artists in post war Britain.

Art Now: Juneau Projects: Trappenkamp

Sculpture Court

juneau/projects/ are artists Phil Duckworth and Ben Sadler, who have worked together on art and music projects since 1999 and have created Trappenkamp, a new installation for Art Now on the Sculpture Court. Based in Birmingham, juneau/projects/ make records, perform live and create art. This latest work mixes traditional crafts and customs with new technologies, from digitally generated wood carvings to woodland themes computer games, they synthesise old and new, city and countryside into their own expression of folk art for the modern age.

Please note: an invitation only event will be taking place in the Clore Gardens near the Sculpture Court.
