Video Games

Friday 5 March 2010, 18.30–21.30

Play a selection of video games for Xbox and Playstation3 chosen by presenters of Resonance FM’s One Life Left, Ste Curran and Simon Byron, projected in the Duveen galleries:

North Duveens Terminal:

Flower

A mostly serene, sometimes foreboding journey through a unique world, exploration fuelled by the passing breeze. 2009’s most complete interactive vision, Flower is an accessible, lo-fi, dreamlike masterpiece.

Heavy Rain

This is Game Noir – a dark, cinematic adventure where every choice has a consequence. A father searches for his kidnapped son in David Cage’s much-talked-about interactive narrative.

DJ Hero

Arguably the coolest game of the last twelve months, DJ Hero brings rhythm action gaming to the dance floor. Beautifully choreographed with a pulsating soundtrack.

South Duveens Terminal:

Chime

A minimalist, music-themed block-builder with hypnotic visuals and a generated soundtrack featuring contributions from Philip Glass and Orbital, Chime is simple in concept, but compulsive and endlessly playable.

Rez HD

Set in a futuristic computer supernetwork called the K-project, Rez is the game that twists together sound, light and touch blurring the boundaries between an on-rails shooter and a synaesthetic masterpiece.

Samurai Shodown Sen

The latest in the series of award-winning and revered SNK fighting games – witness how far videogame beat-‘em-ups have come, and two-player, sword-slashing arena-based combat like never before at its UK premiere.
