Gerard Byrne
An Exercise for Two Actors and One Listener
Building upon previous works such as New Sexual Lifestyles 2003 that took a roundtable discussion from a 1973 edition of Playboy magazine as the scripted basis for a staged debate, Gerard Byrne presents a newly commissioned work with actors. The new work references specific scenarios from popular films, as well as Bertolt Brecht’s acting exercises, and uses the milieu of Tate Britain as a backdrop.
