The displays and exhibitions at Tate Britain are invaluable resources for KS5 students. Our popular study days extend classroom practice and support personal research and interests at AS, A2, BTEC, GNVQ and AVCE levels. Sessions build students' confidence in using the gallery independently and give opportunities for working with artists and other students. Each event includes time in the galleries, discussion and some practical work.
Practical information:
- Students take part independently, without teachers
- Parental permission and essential information about students must be supplied by teachers in advance
- Students must bring sketchbooks and packed lunches or money for lunch
- Students must arrive on time and attend for the entire course
- Study days are free but we charge schools £5 for each student who fails to attend.

Gender in Question: Allen Jones's Prints
Friday 22 January 2010, 10.00–16.30, Clore Studio and Modern Prints Room
This is an amazing opportunity to discuss Allen Jones's representation of gender with Julia Beaumont-Jones, Tate's Prints and Drawings Rooms registrar and Imogen Cornwall-Jones, artist educator and art historian. You discuss issues such as genres and subjectivity, sublimation and objectisation. In the afternoon you have the opportunity to carry out your own research in the gallery.
