As part of the programme of events organised for the Modern Painters exhibition, this is the first symposium solely dedicated to the Camden Town Group. The social and art historical contexts of the Group are examined, particularly modernity, modern environments and class. The materiality of their work is also discussed, with reference to conservation, research and market value.
