Peter Doig’s highly distinctive approach to painting has won him international acclaim. His haunting paintings have a strong sense of atmosphere in which figures seem out of time, landscape is possessed of a strange, unnameable presence and the narrative lure of the image is always countered by the visceral impact of the painted surface.

To coincide with Tate’s major Peter Doig retrospective exhibition, the artist will talk about his substantial body of work including paintings made in the last five years since his move to Trinidad in 2002.
