Karen Hearn, Curator of Van Dyck and Britain, discusses an artist who transformed 17th century portraiture and shaped today's view of the Stuart Monarchy. This talk will consider Van Dyck's approach to the British elite and his affect on later generations of painters, as well as the curatorial choices made during the construction of this opulent exhibition.
