John Everett Millais painted three sisters 'of marriageable age' in 1872. The painting is called Hearts are Trumps, and in it we see the women playing cards at a table. But Millais is not simply depicting a leisure pursuit - find out what else he wanted to convey about the ladies at this short talk.
