Wednesday 8 July 2009, 18.30–20.00

From the desolate and untouched to the wasted and abandoned, what do we mean by wilderness? How in today’s world can we gain a sense of distance, of remoteness, a connection to the land? This evening discussion, featuring artists Tania Kovats and Lara Almarcegui, as well as art historian Dr. Alistair Rider, explores these ideas and asks how contemporary art practice reconfigures and imagines landscape and an experience of the natural world. Chaired by Patrick Wright.
