Howard Hodgkin's paintings often appear to be abstract, but he describes himself as ‘a representational painter of emotional situations’. To coincide with his exhibition, Hodgkin joins Alan Yentob – with whom he recently visited India – to consider the many themes that permeate his work, including memory, sensation and process.
